The Tempest

Thunder and light,
I am cracking,
and fading,
into clouds, bellowing
angry winds;
Ripping off leaves,
and tearing away,
at the living seams;
Reinstating my stake,
on my mind;
Gurgling through faucets,
and drain pipes,
down,
to
where you lay,
your
claim,
your sweet hold,
on
me.
I am shaking free
of shackles,
and clasps;
Rearing, hoofs up
like a wild beast;
Crawling from the heart,
of the volcano,
lava,
as hot as the closeness,
of our lips;
Now sealed shut,
cut
and bleeding;
I am taking control
As birds,
spring away from this,
destruction;
As the earth splits,
and the torrent,
of rain falls,
into the void,
made
from the breaking of gentle dreams.
