Songs of the Universe

The universe sings
her voice
of cello
and bass
clear,
and cosmic,
ringing,
And we
a mere speck
on the spacetime
plane,
hear her
reverberate,
entranced like a babe,
listening,
to our
mother’s soft lullaby.

[This poem is inspired by the lovely talk I attended tonight at UWA by Dr. David Blair where he spoke of his research in the field of astrophysics, and his immense contribution in the detection of gravitational waves (GW151226 and more). There was a small musical interlude when two artists played cello to emulate the sounds the universe makes calling the piece “songs of the universe”.]
