Reflection

I bend down
on softly folded knees,
to watch my face
float
on the salty lake;
dark eyes
and the dusky cheekbones,
barely decipherable
beneath falling
tears,
water meeting water
on gentle ripples;
I watch me displace,
hair there,
mouth here,
a girl broken
on tiny waves.
