In repose

I am lush slopes
on the outside,
a mountain laden
with wildflowers,
and trees
bursting with fruit,
spritely springs
bubble along
my gentle curves,
unaware now,

that on the inside,
ancient love burns
like lava,
your name
my innards,
in such red-hot flame
that courses
my veins,

loving you
has brought me
fiery dreams,
and I contain
my anguish
in restless silence,
I sleep,
waiting for release.
