sleeping flowers

I want to touch you
the way moonlight
touches sleeping flowers
softly iridescent,

the way the wind
tickles and gently nudges them.

I want to hold you
the way a delicate vine
curls and curves along a
sturdy trellis,

the way bees nestle and buzz there
when fruit is laden.

I want to love you
the way raindrops bathe trees
and then collect into tiny puddles
at their feet,

the way the sunlight warms and
the spring awakens them.
